Spartanburg, SC – Women's Basketball was defeated by #17 Walters State on Tuesday night 74-43. The Pioneers started the game with a lot of fire and great defense only getting down by seven in the 1st quarter. Jayla Hopkins and Aliyah Whiteside were the spark SMC needed to stay in the game with Walters State. Defense held the Senators to 39 points at the half making the score 39-23. After the half, the Pioneers took a lot of great shots but Walters State outscored SMC by 15 points.
