HARTWELL, GA- The Pioneer golf program fared very well this past week at the Emmanuel College Spring Invitational held at the beautiful Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, GA. Both teams placed third in the NCAA Division 2 golf tournament and scored a Spring best in the second round.

The men were paced by Bernie McShane with two rounds of 72 and a solid second place finish. Connor Jones continued his strong play with a 76-71 showing. The team scored a 297 in the second round but could not gain ground on Emmanuel College, who won the men's team championship. Southern Wesleyan University finished in second.

Nikita Arjun won her second NCAA tournament of the year with a two day total of 146, which cruised to a six shot victory on the field. Haley Tucker and Amber Easler also played solidly for the Pioneers and the team shot a 356 on the second day on a difficult golf course. Emmanuel also won the event on the women's side.

The women play next week in Greeneville, TN while the men will begin postseason play in two weeks in Goldsboro, AL.
