Arjun Wins Region X, Three Qualify For National Championship

New Bern, NC- The 21st ranked Lady Pioneers finished the regular season with a strong second place finish in the Region X Championship held at The Emerald Golf Club in New Bern, NC.

The Pioneers shot rounds of 350 and 351 to finish in second behind Sandhills Community College and ahead players of Surry CC and Johnston CC. Freshman Nikita Arjun overcame a three shot deficit in the first round by shooting a second round 76 to blow away the field with a 7 shot victory. Sophomore Haley Tucker put together her best tournament of the year with a 84-85 two day total of 169 and one spot out of the All Tournament team. Amber Easler, Nikita Arjun, and Haley Tucker all qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament in Mesa, Arizona starting May 10th.

Kelsey Robinson and Ashley Rogers finished up their golf careers on Sunday at the Region Championship. "I am so proud of the five sophomores and what they have meant to this program. Lillie, Haley, Ashley, Amber, and Kelsey will be missed next year and I wish them the best" concluded Coach Kyle Owings.
