Women's Golf places 4th at Cavalier Spring Invitational.

Montreat, NC. - The Pioneer women's golf team finishes 4th place at the Cavalier Spring Invitational hosted by Montreat College.  Sophomore Brooke Hutto shaves 10 strokes after the first day, opening with a 90.  Beginning the day in 16th place Hutto springs up the leaderboard with a comeback 80 and finishes 6th individually.  Helping Hutto, fellow sophomore Shannon Heerey fires 88-86 = 174 to finish T13.  Megan Thompson (95-89 = 184) and Paige Johnson (96-88 = 184) both make improvements after their first round. 

Head Golf coach, Arran Setro added, "I am happy with the performance of the women today.  The golf course was playing tough, with a lot of hills and undulations with around the greens, but they adjusted with the diverse playing conditions and improved after their first round."

The tournament was led by Megan Schauer from Tennessee Wesleyan who fired 82-78 = 160.
