STATEMENT OF PRIMARY INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR SMC INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION

All athletes must be covered under a primary insurance policy.

• The minimum coverage must include: $500 deductable, 80% coinsurance, and at least $10,000 max benefit

Athletes with Medicaid and Tricare must purchase accidental insurance to be eligible for athletic participation.

Spartanburg Methodist College has partnered with an outside provider to help athletes in need of primary accidental insurance. The 1^st Care Plan will cover the minimum coverage requirements for the full year and is non-refundable once signed up. Student-athletes will be able to sign-up with SMC's athletic trainers and the $674 premium will be billed to the student's SMC account.
