Pioneer Wrestling performs well at UCF Tourney

The SMC Wrestling team traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete in the University of Central Florida Knights Open Tournament this weekend.

The Pioneers were led by John Allen Griswold placing 2nd at the 285 weight class, along with Chris Flynn placing 4th at 285, DeAndre Johnson placing 5th at 157, Zac Whisnant placing 6th at 285, Ian Clevenger placing 7th at 133, Hector Contreras placing 7th at 125, and Cole Leighton placing 7th at 184.

"It was a great experience for all the guys to get exposed to NCAA D1 teams like UCF and the University of Florida. We had a lot of fun and came out with some good results. We are looking forward to getting back to work on keeping our winning streak alive on Thursday November 21st at home against East Tennessee State University."
