Daquon Wilson qualifies from NJCAA National Wrestling Championship tournament

SPARTANBURG, SC., Daquon Wilson is Spartanburg Methodist College Wrestling Team lone qualifier for the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships.

In order to qualify for the national tournament from the North East District I Championships each wrestler had to place top two in their weight class, and at 165lbs Daquon Wilson (Charleston, SC) qualified for the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships by doing just that. Daquon came into the tournament as the number one seed and after a strong showing in his first match, he faced familiar foe of Sam Colebert of Mercyhurst NE who he beat earlier in the year by decision. In a back and forth battle that ultimately ended in a fall, Daquon found himself on the losing end of that match. But it wasn't all over for him. Daquon was challenged for a true second place match in where he narrowly beat Shawn Devin of Springfield Technical Community College by decision.
