Wrestling Ranked 23rd in the Country

Spartanburg Methodist College Wrestling program heads into the NE District II National Qualifier this weekend ranked 23rd in the country ahead of rival district team Camden County College. Two SMC wrestlers found themselves ranked within the top 8 in their respective weight classes. 157lber Brandon Harris and 174lber Caleb Spears.

 

157lber Brandon Harris, a transfer from Appalachian State University, has a record of 13-3 on the year placing at the UNC Pembroke Open, and true freshman, 174lber, Caleb Spears has a record of 25-11 placing at two tournaments this year. 

 

Nine of the ten weights for SMC will head up to the District tournament this weekend February 10th, in hopes to qualify for  the National Tournament. The NE District II tournament will be a tight battle for the number 1 team. SMC sits at 23rd in the National rankings and returning district champions Camden County College ranks at 25th in the national ranking.
