Caleb Spears Takes 2nd at Newberry Open

Newberry, SC –  In a tournament full of NCAA Division I and Division II starters, qualifiers, and All-Americans, Caleb Spears (174 lber) worked his way to a 2^nd place finish in the Newberry Open.  Spears only loss came in the finals to NCAA DI wrestler from Appalachian State, Barrett Blakely.  This is Spears 4^th tournament placing this year and brings his overall record to 21-8. 

The Pioneers head to the NJCAA North East District II Tournament, hosted by Lackawanna College on Saturday, February 16^th. This is the qualifying tournament for the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships held in Council Bluffs, Iowa, March 1-2.
