SMC Wrestling at Georgia Collegiate Open
Franklin Springs, GA – SMC Wrestling competed in the Georgia Collegiate Open on November 2, 2019. The Pioneers had a great showing, placing 3 individuals, all being true freshmen. Malik Harvey (133lber) concluded the day with a 6th place finish. Thomas Schock (157lber), with the most wrestlers of any weight class in his bracket, finished 1st in the consolation bracket going 5-1. Shylik Scriven (165lber) had a great day making it all the way to the semi-finals before losing to an NCAA Division II National Qualifier but then fighting back to take 4th overall in a tough weight class.
The Pioneers head to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for the Pembroke Classic. Here they will compete against some of the nation’s best, with premier Division I and Division II Universities attending the event.
