SMC Wrestling Competed at UNC Pembroke

Pembroke, NC- Spartanburg Methodist College Wrestling competed at the 39th annual Pembroke Classic on November 10, 2019.  The Pioneers had a great day placing 2 individuals, both true freshmen. Thomas Schock (157lber) lead the way for the Pioneers placing 5th overall, and now placing in both of the tournaments he has wrestled in. Thomas now improves his record to 8-3 overall. Robert Escalante (149lber) ended the day with a 6th place finish, improving his record to 3-4 overall. Malik Harvey (133lber) went 1-2 on the day, taking his overall record to 3-4. Shylik Scriven (165lber) went 1-2 on the day, improving his record to 3-4 overall. Loye Burkhead (141lber) went 1-2 on the day, progressing his record to 3-4 overall.

 

The Pioneers head to the University of North Carolina State for the Wolfpack Open. Here they will compete against some of the nation’s best wrestlers, with top Division I and Division II teams being in attendance. The Wolfpack Open can be followed live on FloWrestling.org and starts at 9am on November 17, 2019.
