Pioneers shutout Patrick Henry

After a long day on the road and waiting for mother nature,  the Lady Pioneers (2-0) prevailed 3-0 over Patrick Henry Community College. After sitting on the side of the road for two and half hours in broken down bus, the team arrived in Martinsville Virginia only to wait another hour due to a lightning storm.

The first goal was scored by freshman Kacee Merritt of Columbia,SC at the 12 minute mark. The second goal was scored five minutes later by sophomore Caroline Keener of North Myrtle Beach,SC on a penalty kick. Sophomore defender, Samantha Kee scored her first collegiate goal with ten minutes left in the game.

The Lady Pioneers now have a record of 2-0 smf return to the road on Wednesday September 4th at USC Lancaster.
