LANCASTER, SC., The Lady Pioneer Soccer team earned their second win in a row on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated USC Lancaster 2-1. The Pioneers improved to 8-7 overall and 8-3 in Region 10 play.
The Lancers picked up a quick goal and held the lead late into the second half. SMC finally found the back of the net when Sara Dorsett (Travelers Rest, SC) knocked in a header. SMC took the lead with seven minutes left in the match on a goal by Heather Blaszak (Summerville, SC). Both of the Pioneer goals were assisted by Cierra Smith (Columbia, SC).
The Lady Pioneers will travel to Raleigh, NC on Saturday to wrap up their regular season schedule against Wake Tech Community College.
