The Lady Pioneers Soccer season came to an end today with a 2-1 loss in the NJCAA Region X Championship.
The Lady Pioneers Soccer season came to an end today with a 2-1 loss in the NJCAA Region X Championship. The loss came to # 9 in the Nation Cape Fear CC. The Pioneers scored first with a goal from freshman Daisy Wingard 15 minutes into the game. SMC Freshman goalkeeper was able to save a penalty kick at the 20 minute mark. Cape Fear scored on a corner kick at the 23rd minute and scored on a penaly kick just before half time. Even though the Lady pioneers had the better of the play, they were unable to equalize. Freshman Remi Olalere (West Ashley, SC) was named Player of the Year for the NJCAA Region X. Making first team All – Region were Freshmen Daisey Wingard (Airport, SC) and Brittany Heri (Charleston, SC) Making Second Team All-Region were Freshmen AJ Gilmore (Cayce, SC) and Sissy Mungin (Beaufort, SC). Freshman Stephanie Quirola (Spartanburg, SC) was named Honorable Mention ALL Region. .
