Recap of the 2017 Women's Soccer Season

The Lady Pioneers finished with a 14-4 overall record and 12-3 Region X record.  In the United Soccer Coaches Poll the team finished 17th in the country out of 145 NJCAA Division I teams.  The lady pioneers had several players named to the NJCAA All-Region Teams.  First team were Sophomores Remi Olelere, a Midfielder from Ladson, SC and AJ Gilmore, a defender from Cayce, SC. Also on the first team were Freshman Cailyn Marietti, a forward from Charleston, SC and midfielder Morgan Vega from Summerville, SC.  On the second team All-Region were sophomores Stephanie Quirola, a defender from Spartanburg, SC and forward Brittany Heri from Charleston, SC.  The freshmen who made Second Team All-Region were Goalkeeper Jennifer Byrd from Boiling Springs, SC, defender Jackie Marshall from Greer, SC, and midfielder Elizabeth McGee from Gaston, SC. 

The team set several school records including fewest goals allowed in a season (13), goals against average (.72), most consecutive shutouts (8) and most shutouts in a season (13).  In the nation the Lady Pioneers finished 7th in total points (275), 9th in goals (94), 7th in assist (92) and 6th in goals per game (5.22).  Defensively they finished 2nd in the country in Shutouts, 13th in goals against average and 16th in goals against .
