Women's Soccer Defeat Montgomery College

The Lady Pioneers took on tough out of Region X team. Women's Soccer played Montgomery College from Maryland for the third game of the season. The Lady Pioneers came out strong and missed a couple of early opportunities. They were finally able to score in the 26th minute when freshman, Madison Stewart (Florence, SC), an outside back got into the attack and headed a cross in from fellow freshman, Campbell Gibson (Summerville, SC). The Lady Pioneers took a 1-0 lead at half time.

The Lady Pioneers came out strong in the second half and scored a goal by sophomore, Heather Turner (Gadson, SC). They scored on a cross from a corner kick served by Angelica Gonzalas five minutes into the half. Montgomery scored in the 80th minute on a penalty kick. SMC responded scoring a goal 30 seconds later when Campbell Gibson crossed the ball on the ground back to freshman, Beyoncé Williams (Greenville, SC) who hit a one time ball from 18 yards out past the keeper. 

SMC is now 2-0-1
