Lady Pioneers Bring Home a Win Over Gordon State

The Lady Pioneers traveled to Barnesville, Ga for a matchup with Gordon State College. The traffic and late arrival didn't stop SMC from a quick start. Caitlin Lagos buried a 25-yard shot right under the crossbar after a great lay off from Camden Brooks 9 minutes into the game. The Pioneers would hold the majority of possession through the first half and led at halftime 1-0. The second half was much of the same. SMC kept the shots coming and they doubled the score when Camila Moscoso cleaned up a rebound from a Grace White cross. The defense and Gwen Orr kept the shots to a minimum on the night and finished with one save. The Pioneers have moved to 4-3-1 and start Region 10 play when USC Sumter comes to Spartanburg on 9.27.23. SMC takes to the road on 9.28.23 for a matchup with rival USC Lancaster.
