Bio

Dan Kenneally has been coaching at Spartanburg Methodist College since 1995.  Dan has had many coaching duties here at SMC which include: Director of Soccer, Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Director of Operations for the Women’s Soccer Program, and Head Men’s Golf Coach. In 1997 Coach Kenneally title for the Women’s program changed to Head Coach.  After winning the Coach of the Year in Region X Golf in 2003 Coach Kenneally retired as Men’s Golf Coach to focus more on the Soccer Programs.  In 2011, his responsibilities change then again, he gave up coaching the Men’s Soccer Program and is now focusing on coaching the Women’s soccer team.

Since taking over the Women’s Soccer Program in 1997 Coach Kenneally has comprised a record of 206-128-33. Currently making him the 11th winningest coach in NJCAA Women’s Soccer history. The Women’s Soccer Team has been Nationally ranked in the Top 20 for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and United Soccer Coaches final poll from 2014-2017. The 2015 Team won the District tournament and participated in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers have won the Region X Championship six times (1999, 2004, 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2015). They finished runner-up in Region X (1998, 2010, 2016 and 2017).  Coach Kenneally has been named Women’s Region X Coach of the Year six times (1999, 2004, 2005, 2010, 2014 and 2015) The Women’s Soccer team has also been named NSCAA Silver Award Winner in Ethics as well as NSCAA Team Academic Award.

While coaching the Men’s Team Coach Kenneally comprised a record of 146-104-22.  The Men won four Region X Titles (1995, 2000, 2010 and 2011). They were Runner-up in Region X (1996, 2001, 2007 and 2009). Coach Kenneally was named Region X Coach of the Year in 1995, 2000 and 2010. In 2010 Coach Kenneally was a finalist for National Coach of the Year, winning the NSCAA/Mondo NJCAA Division I South Coach of the Year.

Coach Kenneally is originally from Rockville Centre, NY.  In 1995 he was married to Marissa Kenneally and they have two children Thomas and Ashley.  Kenneally went to college at North Carolina State University, after suffering an injury he transferred back to New York where he received his Associates Degree from SUNY Farmingdale. At SUNY Farmingdale he started his coaching career coaching goalkeepers. Kenneally then transferred to Alfred University earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. At Alfred University he was an Assistant Coach for both the Men and Women Soccer Teams.
