SMC Women's Track and Field Begins Outdoor Season

Central, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's track and field team began the outdoor portion of its schedule at the SWU Susan Rouse Invite on Saturday.

Anna Altman began the day with a school record toss of 57-5 (17.51m) in the javelin. Also for the Pioneers, Sophia Outhous was second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:27.52.

The Pioneers picked up a pair of third-place finishes in the 100m hurdles and 3000m run. Da'Sani Kinlaw clocked a time of 17.37 in the 100m hurdles and Averi Vance posted a time of 12:46.10 in the 3000m run.

Tieranny Jeter was fourth in the 400m run with a time of 1:09.36, teammate Bella Shields was seventh in 1:14.51.
