Lacey Tyner finishes stellar season

SPARTANBURG, SC- Lacy Tyner (Florence, SC- West Florence High School) ended her career as a Pioneer on sophomore night against Catawba Valley Community College with 40 digs and one of her best individual performances of the year. The 5'1" Tyner can be found all over the court during matches and at practice, even diving very close to the chairs during practice on Monday to save a ball. Tyner's season will go down as one of the best in Spartanburg Methodist College history.

Tyner is currently ranked number one in the nation with 902 digs on the season and 6.85 digs per set. Prior to her 40 digs vs CVCC Tuesday night, Tyner recorded 41 digs against Louisburg College on Friday night. Her season high was 48 digs on August 30th against Potomac State College. Tyner added 311 digs during her freshman season for a total of 1213 for two years at SMC.

Tyner has been a joy to watch play for two seasons and will certainly be missed in a Pioneer uniform.
