Lady Pioneers Look to a Strong Sophomore Class for 2019-2020 Season
One week into preseason and the Pioneer volleyball team is looking good. With 10 returners and 10 incoming freshman, there has been a high level of energy and competition. The Pioneers will have a home scrimmage this Saturday the 17th at 12:00 PM against Truett McConnell University as well as Wednesday, August 21st at Converse College.
Zimmerman says, “I’m excited for the growth happening on our team each day. There is a lot to learn and our returners are doing a great job helping the freshman and keeping the team focused. We are more driven and competitive than we were this time last year which is exciting. I have a solid number of returners who gained playing experience last year, but these incoming freshman are doing a great job fighting for those spots.”
Along with their preseason scrimmages, the Pioneers will host opening weekend, August 23-24. They will play at 1:00 and 5:00 PM on both days.
