Lady Pioneers Sweep the Bobcats in a 3-0 Match

SPARTANBURG, SC - The Lady Pioneers hosted Bryant and Stratton on Sunday at Bridges Arena as part of a weather-induced make up contest. The Pioneers swept the visiting Bobcats 3-0.

“We’re thankful we were able to play today, our girls played hard and we came away with the win,” Head Coach Katie Zimmerman said. “Our goals were to win the serve and pass game and keep a consistent mentality of urgency. Doing those two things attributed to being successful.”

The Pioneers were led on offensively by sophomore outside Aeyane Mattress with 10 kills. Middle blocker Anna McKnight added another 6 kills while hitting .600.

Defensively, Kameron Neese led the defense with 30 digs and 5 assists. The team reached a team-high in aces for the match.

Set scores 25-10, 25-21, 25-21.

The Lady Pioneers travel to USC Salkehatchie on Wednesday to continue Region X play.
