SMC's Half Marathon team opens season

The men and women's half marathon team opened it season at Carowind's Run and Ride 13.1 mile race on Sept. 10.  The weather was warm and humid but did not stop a good performance to begin the season.  The 13.1 mile course was a two loop course that turned its way through the theme park before finishing through a stretched chute.  

While the half marathon is an open road race, it did not stop Logan Miller from being the first overall finisher of the day with a time of 1:21.   Kole Koterba (1:25) and Harrison Moore (1:27) was the 2nd and 4th place finisher respectively.  

The women's team day started with a great finish with Andrea Liddell at 1:37.   With a grinding finish, Italia jones (1:42) and ALi Bennett (1:46) both grab a solid race.  

"It was great to get a half marathon under our belts early in the season.  This will really help propel the runners throughout the rest of the season."  says head caoch Ken Roach.
