SMC Women's Team competes at NJCAA XC Nationals

El Doraldo, KS;  The SMC women's cross country team competed in the NJCAA XC Nationals on Nov. 12th in El Dorlado, Ks.  There were 45 teams across the nation competing in the event.  The event started with a 11am start time under great weather conditions and was held at Praire Trials Golf Course in El Doraldo, KS.

With so many teams on the start line, the boxes were very tight with little elbow room.  The lady pioneers were able to finsh the day with a 19th overall finish.  Ali Bennett lead the way for the team with an all time best finsih of 19:52.  Italia Jones crusied close behind with a 19:58 finish to place second for the team.  

Hayley Singletary matched here season best to finsh third for the team.  Jordyn Gilmore and Andrea Liddell rounded out the scoring spots.  "It was a great experience for the team to compete against the best NJCAA programs in the country.  We were able to hold our own today but have an itch to get back out here because we know there is more in us."  says Ken Roach
