Men’s Basketball Drops 2 On The Road

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 4-7 in conference play, 9-14 overall after they traveled to Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute Friday evening, and Spartanburg Methodist College Saturday afternoon.

 

On Friday evening, the Cobras took an early 46-22 lead at the half and would go on to defeat Richard Bland in regulation, 87-61.

 

On Saturday afternoon, the Statesmen trailed 31-24 at the half. Although Richard Bland outscored the Pioneers in the second half, Spartanburg Methodist held on for the 70-68 win. Every starter scored double digits in the loss. Nathaniel Lacey led the scoring for the Statesmen with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Kevon West and Lance Monteiro had 14 points each. Eric Wood scored his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards, while Kelby Saunders Jr. chipped in with 10 points and 8 rebounds.

 

Richard Bland men's basketball next travels to South Point High School in Belmont, NC on Monday February 7th at 7pm for the second meeting with Gaston College.
