
SMC Women’s Golf Places Fifth at CAC Championships
SMITHFIELD, Mo. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team wrapped up its season with a fifth-place finish at the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Golf Championships on Tuesday. The Pioneers were led by sophomore Isabella Marz, who climbed three spots in the final round to help SMC post a team total of 814 (406-408) over two rounds.
No. 38 Our Lady of the Lake University captured the team title with a dominant 633 (327-306), finishing well ahead of the competition.
Individually, Victoria (B.C.)'s Cindy Koira secured the tournament crown with a two-day total of 152 (80-72), edging out first-round leader Ceci Lattuada of OLLU by a single stroke.
SMC's top performer was Adeline Todd, who finished 16th with a 36-hole total of 180 (88-92). She was followed closely by Marz and Melanie Meredith, who tied for 17th at 181. Marz improved on her opening-round 94 with an 87 on Tuesday, while Meredith followed an 88 with a 93. Mia Hansen rounded out the Pioneer lineup, finishing 23rd with a total of 272 (136-136).
At the conclusion of the tournament, Meredith was recognized as SMC's recipient of the CAC Champion of Character Award, honoring her dedication to sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership.
