Beach Volleyball Season Opener at St. Andrews University

Lady Pioneers Beach Volleyball opens season with tournament at NAIA, St. Andrew's University.

The Lady Pioneers Beach Volleyball team opened their 2024 season with 4 losses. On Friday, SMC faced NAIA, AAC matchup against St. Andrews University losing 0-5, with Pair #2 Brantlie Price and Delaney Castro being the only match to go to 3 sets. Price and Castro had a hard-fought battle against the SAU Knights, winning the first set 21-13 and fighting point for point in the second and third sets, falling 21-23 and 16-14. In the second match of the day, the Lady Pioneers faced the NCAA Dll Carson -Newman Eagles, ending 0-5 and 0-2 on the day.

On day 2, SMC faced NCAA DI Liberty University Flames. The Lady Pioneers fell to the Flames 0-5, but Pair #1 Kendall Minders and Hana Vucinic put up a fight, almost putting the fire out in set 2 with a score of 22-25.

Though the SMC Pioneers came up short, they'll come back stronger than ever. Next up, the Lady Pioneers travel to South Prince George, VA to take on Region 10 foe Richard Bland Saturday, 2/24 at 10am & 12pm.
