Bio

Tom Myers enters his twenty first year of coaching baseball at various levels.  A 1991 graduate of Greenwood High School, Myers earned a BS in Secondary Education upon graduation from USC-Upstate in 1997.  While at USC-Upstate he was a four year starter for the Rifles (now Spartans) and after his playing career was complete Myers began his coaching career, staying on at Upstate as an assistant coach under Bubba Dorman.

 

In 1997 Myers ventured into the high school ranks to become a teacher/Head Coach at Greer High School.  In 2000 he returned to the collegiate level, accepting the job of Hitting/Infield coach at the College of Charleston. In 2002 he returned to the high school baseball level joining Riverside High School and was rewarded with back to back State Championships while there. His 2004 Warriors team was the #1 High School program in the US as ranked by Baseball America. While at Riverside Myers coached nine division one signees and three MLB draft picks.  

 

In 2004 Tom accepted the head coaching job at Spartanburg High School where he rejuvenated the program, setting the school record for wins while reaching the Upper State finals. He has coached for various nationally ranked travel programs and during his career has coached eight MLB draft picks, most notably current NY Yankee Brett Gardner.

 

Myers currently resides in Greer with his wife Alexis Myers and their four sons.
