Men's Basketball Drops the Ball for the First Time this Season
Last night the Pioneers dropped their first game of the season 85-68 at Walters State Community College in a hard fought battle. It was a tale of two halves. The Pioneers ended the first 38-33, but Walters State came out firing the second half.
Walters state won the battle of the boards capitalizing on 13 offensive rebounds while the Pioneers could only pull in 4 offensive rebounds. Walters State also won the battle of free throws (15-18) in the second half, while the pioneers struggled to get to the line (0-2) in the second half.
SMC was led by 3 double digit scorers Major Freeman (23), Khalon Hudson (15) and JaJuan Nicholls (12). SMC will travel to Brunswick CC to play a neutral site game against Harford CC November 18th at 1pm.
