SMC Golf Opens Up At USC Lancaster
LANCASTER, SC – The Pioneer Men's Golf team opened up its 2010-11 season by competing in the SC JUCO Challenge held at Edgewater Golf Course in Lancaster.
The Pioneers had a great day but lost the cup by two strokes to USC Lancaster (296). Jordan Jay (Ninety Six HS) led the Blue squad to a 298 score. Sophomores Drayton Melton (Chapman HS) and Kyle Peters (James Island HS) shot 75's.
The White team finished at a strong 302 and was led by Ethan Parrish's (Clover HS) 72 and Dorman HS grads Dillon Gregory and Jarrod Phelps both carded 75s.
Trevor Banks, USCL, won the tournament with a 68.

Spartanburg Methodist College has 14 intercollegiate teams that compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which includes colleges in the Carolinas, Virginia and West Virginia.
The College is in its 100th academic year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment this August. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
