Compliance at Spartanburg Methodist

INTRODUCTION

Spartanburg Methodist College is committed to effectively and efficiently ensuring adherence and promote knowledge to the rules and regulations of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) of which it is a member. The athletic department will hold itself to the highest standards of quality and ethics while cultivating an environment of respect, communication, and teamwork with the athletic department and the college community.

To participate in intercollege athletics, you must maintain your athletic and academic eligibility. Your coach, Academic Advisor, and the Athletic Directors will work together to ensure adherence to all NAIA rules and regulations regarding eligibility. NAIA rules may seem complicated: they provide that all teams play according to the same rules, with no team having an unfair competitive edge. The administration makes a great effort to see that you and all staff members are familiar with these rules and understand that any deviation from them, whether knowingly or through ignorance, is not condoned by the athletic department or Spartanburg Methodist College.
