Pioneers Have a Great Half Marathon debut

Charlotte, NC:

The Pioneers Half Marathon team raced in the Run and Ride Half Marathon event in Charlotte, NC on 09/10/2017.    The 13.1 mile event was set up through the Carowinds theme park as a two loop 6.5 mile course.   With the temperature in the low 60's at race time, it was almost perfect conditions to race.  The venue was great fun and helped keep the team loose and relaxed.  

Logan Miller (1:20) and Joshua Doyle (1:20) once again lead the mens' team and finished the event as the 1st and 2nd place overall finisher respectivefully.  Brad Daniels had a strong race with Harrison Moore and Jacob Lewis not too far behind.  "I have been a little nervous about the lower volume of tempo running for this team through the first few weeks of practice but their finish today set that worry to the side." say Ken Roach   "Both teams did really great today and I am really glad they can walk away with confidence. "

Italia Jones finished 3rd overall for the female class with a time of 1:34 for the race.  Ali Bennett, Jesse Defalco and Noemi Guterriez all had strong finishes for the team which will help prepare them as the season moves forward.
