Men's XC- Region 10 Tune Up at the Upstate Invitational

The men’s XC team finished up their regular season at the Upstate Invitational, this past weekend, where they set themselves up for their Region 10 Championship in a few weeks. “It was great for our men to have an opportunity to race the same course our Region Championship will be on. Race strategies and perception are fine-tuned and ready to go Halloweekend!”

The Pioneers were, once again, led by Zander Allen. Zander ran a time of 30:20 on a tough Milliken course. “Zander is primed and ready to go for region weekend. It will be exciting to see him compete for a Region 10 individual title in two weeks!”

Following, were Trey Armstrong, 31:21, and Marc Mixtega, 32:27. “Both guys are starting to lock into their race plans with just a few small things to work on before next Saturday.”

Finishing out the top five for the Neer’s was Samuel Stevens, 34:37. This is Sam’s first time on the Pioneer top five and he got there by dropping almost two minutes from his previous best! “Sam really surprised all of us! Sam just looked smooth and consistent the entire race and picked it up nicely on the back end. Welcome to the top 5 Sam!”

“Overall, we had an ok day. It was nice to get on the home course and race it prior to our championship in a few weeks. We still have a lot to work on but we are excited to be in a position to have success at the Region Championship on October 29th.”
