Lady Pioneers Fall To Walters State and East Georgia State 

The Lady Pioneers started off their 2021 season with strong competition. SMC hosted Walters State on February 8th and lost 20-4 and 12-3. They then turned around and played at East Georgia State College on February 9th and lost 12-4 and 9-0.

"This season has started off with a lot of obstacles to work around. We have some of our top players and leaders in quarantine, we have some strong players that are injured, and we have a lot of players in the games battling annoying injuries that just make a season hard to get through. The past two days were hard and when you look at scores like that as a coach it can be upsetting and frustrating, but you just have to remember what we are fighting with and remember that this is NOT a normal year. It is a year of learning and opportunity! We are going to keep pushing through, stay positive, and hope that we are facing all of these obstacles early so we don't fight them later in our season." -Coach Hill
