Pioneers Peak at USC Open
The Pioneers raced their last meet of the season at the USC open this past weekend against stout competition. Even 11-time Olympic Medalist Allyson Felix made an appearance in the women’s 200m.
Men’s Notable Performances:
- Kai’Letri Hunter ran PR times in the 100m, 10.96, and 200m 22.52.
- Jamel Harried hit PR’s in the 100m, 11.29, and 200m, 23.31.
- Isaiah’s 100m and 200m were PR times as well, 11.33 and 22.89.
- Garet Morgan finished his SMC career with PR’s in the 100m, 11.66, and the 200m, 24.37.
- Cameron Gossett ran his final race as a Pioneer in PR fashion, 10:24.31.
Women’s Notable Performances:
- Madison Chesney finished her track career as a Pioneer placing 2nd in her 800m race, 2:30.42.
- Mikayla Wilson ran the 1500m in 6:04.53.
Overall, a solid day for the Pioneers! “Nice to have the weather cooperate for once this season. Our athletes peaked nicely and ran fast times at the end of the season, their hard work paid off.”
