Pioneer's Women Win RegionX Championship

Spartanburg S.C. – The women's cross country team placed first place and the men placed third at the RegionX Cross Country Championship.  Ali Bennet finished as RegionX women's champion.

Pioneers Highlights

  • Ali Benentt placed first which gave her the women champion crown.  
  • The women's team placed five in the top seven for All-Region honors.  Pioneers who won All Region honors, Ali Bennett, Italia Jones, Noemi Guterriezz, Jesse Defalco, and Breanna Hedinger. 
  • Joshua Doyle ran a personal best 8k placing 8th overall for the men.  

Post-meet Thoughts
 "Women really ran well today with a lot of effort. They came to the meet to compete and that was great to see." said head coach Ken Roach. "this was their best overall effort of the season."  One the men's side "Joshua Doyle had a great day today. He ran a smart race and gave himself a chance for AllRegion honers at the finish.  I was glad to see him race his own race today."
