The #8 nationally ranked Spartanburg Methodist men's basketball team improved to 15-0 with a 77-67 win against Shelton State (AL). The start is the best in school history after 15 games.
The Pioneers had four players in double figures, led by Ronell Crockett with a team high 16 points. He also added 6 rebounds. Freshman Daquan Jeffries recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Also in double figures were Jalen Nesbitt with 12 points (to go along with 6 rebounds) and Travis Black with 10 points.
"Our defensive energy and execution in the first half was tremendous," said head coach Jeff Brookman. "I could not be more proud of all my guys. However, there are still so many things that we can improve on."
The Pioneers take a break for the Holidays and return to action January 12th at home against Walters State.
