Pioneers compete at Greater Louisville Classic

The Men's Cross Country team traveled to Louisville to run in the Greater Louisville Classic, which is one of the premier cross country races in the country. The event features several ranked Cross Country teams in NCAA D1, D2 and NAIA along other quality programs from the South and Midwest. The collegiate races are divided into 3 separate tiers: Gold level (top tier), Blue level (2nd tier) and Silver level (3rd tier). Each race pits teams with the same skill level against one another The 2013 Pioneer runners took home the title in their division but  this year cCoach Rhodes had the team compete against stronger competition.

The men's team ran in Blue level (2nd tier) race, which included runners from some NCAA Division 1, 2 squads and a couple ranked NAIA teams.  Without 3 of their top 7 runners, The men's team competed admirably ed by Sophomore Zaid Smart who finished 33rd out of 289 runners.
