Men's Cross Country wins College of Charleston Invitational

Men's Cross Country wins College of Charleston Invitational

ROCK HILL, SC., The Spartanburg Methodist College men's team nearly swept the competition at the College of Charleston Invitational.  Competing in the NCAA non Div I classification, the men's team won its first invitational since 2012.

The skies were clear and the weather in good condition for the cross country race.  Freshman Anthony Galvan and Kole Koterba who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively went out and set the pace for the Pioneers.   Things were good for the men's team at the first two mile marker and stayed that way throughout the race.  Glen Daniels and Kelvin Rosemond put in a solid performance to secure the victory.  Overall all, several of the men's team set an individual PR.

On the women's side, Heidi McNeil gave the Lady Pioneers a third place finish with a time of 21.02.  With a couple of members hurt, the women were not able to post a team score.

Coach Ken Roach stated "Its nice to have a pat on your back from all the hard work put in during the season.  In this sport, those pats on the back are hard to come by and we will take them anyway and anytime."
