Beach Volleyball Faces Two Region Foes

Dallas, NC: For the first time this season, SMC Pioneers faced the Flyers of Sandhills Community College. In the first wave, pairs 2 & 4 started off. Pair #4 Alyssa Sellers and Mya Johnson fell short losing 0-2. Pair #2 Delaney Castro and Brantlie Price evened the overall score, winning 2-0. In the second wave, pairs #1 and #3 competed. Pair #3 Andrea Terrell and Bailey Beck fell 0-2 while Pair #1 Kendall Meinders and Hana Vucinic came out with the victory. The Lady Pioneers fell to the Flyers  2-3.

Shortly after, SMC face the host, Gaston College Rhinos. Much like the first games, pairs 2 and 4 started but going to 3 sets each. In a hard fought battle, Johnson and Sellers lost in the 3rd set by 2 points. Price and Castro took the win after falling in the first set.

Looking to bounce back, Beck and Terrell just fell short in a very contested two-set game. Both Meinders and Vucinic finished off day with a two-set victory.

Next up: SMC Pioneers host Sandhills Community College Friday, April 5th at 1pm and 3pm.
