Men's Golf Season Recap

The Pioneers Men's Golf team finished the year ranked 24^th in the golfstat rankings.  The Pioneers competed in 4 events during the fall and 4 events during the Spring.  Opening up the Fall with an 6^th place finish.  The Pioneers continued the season at the Bob Dibble Classic in Greeneville, Tennessee where Sophomore Caleb Brown finished t-3^rd with all-tournament team honors.  The team rounded up the fall season a 6^th place finish at Walters State and 2^nd at the Region X tournament. 

Opening the Spring the Pioneers claimed 1^st at the Sandhills Community College Spring Invitational at Tallamore Resort in Pinehurst, NC with all-tournament team finish by Caleb Brown.  In rain shortened the Cavalier Invitational, Josh Sprouse claimed t-5^th and received all-tournament team honors.  To close the Spring, the Pioneers finished 2^nd at the Tusculum Spring Invite, with Caleb Brown claiming medalist honors.  The last and final event of the season the Pioneers finished 2^nd in Region X play and 9^th in District IV Championship. 

Three of the sophomores of the Pioneers program are continuing their playing career at four-year institutions.  Caleb Brown signed with University of South Carolina Beaufort, Austin Bullock will continue his playing career at Bryan College in Chattanooga, TN, and Justin Prozzi at Francis Marion University.  "We started out the season a little slow at first and continued to gain momentum as the season progressed.  We stuck to the process of continuing on emphasis on short game work and basically let the game come to us.  I am extremely proud of the three sophomores continuing their playing careers after their time here, it truly shows how their hard work has paid off," concluded Coach Setro.
