Briar Herd Shoots 72 to Lead Pioneers to 4th place finish
Anderson, SC- The Pioneer golf team shot a stellar 294 in the 2nd round of the Anderson University Invitational at Cobb's Glen Country Club. Briar Herd and Bernie McShane led the Pioneers in round two with even par scores of 72. Jack Alexander scored a 74 in round two for a total of 151 and Freshman Brady Trout finished with a solid round of 76 to secure a solid round for the Pioneers. Spartanburg Methodist finished fourth in the NCAA Division II event.
Erskine College won the team portion and Mike Downy from Queens University of Charlotte shot a second round 66 to claim medalist honors.
The men's team returns to action this Sunday at the Emmanuel College Fall Invitational in Harwell, GA.
