Former Standout Soccer Player Signs Professionally

SMC's former standout Soccer player and team Captain signs a professional soccer contract with Lansing Ignite FC. A newly-formed USL League One team in Lansing, Michigan. 

Elma played 2 seasons with SMC (2014-2016) and then went on to finish his collegiate career at Wingate University. Elma would help lead Wingate to a National Title in his first season with the Bulldogs and go on to post impressive stats. After graduating, Elma joined  Asheville City Soccer Club, who plays in the NPSL. Elma ended the inaugural season as the team's top goal scorer and was selected as the twelfth Mitre National Player of the Week for the 2017 NPSL season.
