SMC Beach Bounces Back

Spartanburg, SC.  The Spartanburg Methodist Women’s Beach Volleyball traveled to Salisbury, SC. For the midweek match up this time with a double header again Catawba College. 

What a difference a day makes for the SMC Pioneer Beach team as they would spilt with Catawba with scores of 2-3 and 3-2 for a big win to close out the exciting week.

Catawba took the opening match, with an impressive match by the 3’s pair Tayla Reini/Tori Barr with scores of ) 21-11, 21-13. The 2’s team would battle in tough 3 set match to close out the first match 2-3 falling short of taking the match.

Match 2 would be the best yet for the SMC Beach team as the team’s hard work would finial pay off.

The match would open up with a huge win from the 5’s pair of Callie Wzorek/Racquel Talley 21-18, 21-7. Then another great match from Tayla Reini/Tori Barr for their second win for the day. The final match that would clinch the match for SMC would be a tight match up in the 2’s pair of Zuzanna Michalska/ Delaney Castro.

The SMC Pioneer Beach program will host it’s first tournament of the season on Friday 3/10 and Saturday 3/11 this week with teams of Richard Bland, Bryant and Stratton, and Gaston.

SMC will with hit the sand at 3:00PM on Friday at the Upward Center.
