Pioneers Win Region X, Terry Advances To Nationals, Owings Coach Of the Year

CULLMAN, AL., The Spartanburg Methodist College golf team performed well at TP Country Club in Cullman, AL this past week. The Pioneers won the Region X Competition and barely missed an automatic berth to nationals by four shots to Central Alabama Community College. Freshman, Matthew Terry finished on the All-Tournament Team to earn an individual bid to nationals. "I am so proud of our team and being that four of the five are freshman, we look very strong for next year" says coach Kyle Owings. Also Kyle Owings received the Region X Coach of the year for 2016. The Pioneers finished the season with an undefeated 27-0 record against conference opponents.
