SWAINSBORO, GA., SMC Softball improved to 11-5 on the season with a sweep at East Georgia State on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers won game one 6-0 behind a two hit shut out performance from sophomore Bailey Person (5IP- 6K) and Teagan Crosby (2IP-3K) . Morgan Howard (2 RBI) and Maddie Labrador each had two hits.
Kaylee Freeman, Bailey Pearson, and Brooke Palmer all homered in game two to give SMC a 14-3 win. Freeman went 3-3, with 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in. Palmer delivered a grand slam in the four run sixth inning. SMC had 10 hits in game two and stole five bases. Kayla Price earned her first collegiate win tossing four innings of two hit ball and striking out four.
