Day Two of the 2024 NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship
HOBBS, N.M. – The second day of the 2024 NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship saw the Spartanburg Methodist men’s golf team post a 316 for a 36-hole total of 631 (315-316, +13) and the Pioneers are in 24th place as a team.
SMC was led by the play of Wyatt Harrill for the second-straight day, who posted a round of 73 (+2). For the tournament, Harrill has a 36-hole total of 148 (+6) to share 47th place. Behind him is AJ Bolin, who lowered his score after the opening round by three strokes with a 76 (+5) for a 36-hole total of 155 (79-76, +13).
McLennan CC jumped up four spots to take the team lead with a 281 on Wednesday for a 36-hole total of 570 (289-281, +2) for a three-stroke lead over New Mexico JC and Central Alabama CC with a 573 (+5). For the individual title, there is a three-way tie at six-under par between Mans Boje of Ranger College, Thanapon Suwannaprtheep of Dodge City CC and Nik Blalock of McLennan CC.
For the tournament, Harrill has posted five birdies and 21 pars through 36 holes to lead SMC. The remainder of the lineup for the Pioneers saw Parker Harrigan post an 83 for a 36-hole total of 162 (79-83, +20), Elijah Todd and Byrson Paris each shot a round of 84. Todd has a 36-hole total of 166 (82-84, +24) and Paris has a 36-hole total of 171 (87-84, +29).
The third round on Thursday will get underway at 7:30 a.m. (MT)/9:30 a.m. (EST).
