Spartanburg Methodist Wraps Up Play at NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship
HOBBS, N.M. – The Spartanburg Methodist men's golf team finished 24th at the 2024 NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship on Friday. For the four-day, 72-hole tournament, the Pioneers posted a score of 1263 (315-316-320-312, +127).
Host New Mexico JC took home the team title by three strokes with a 1123 (280-293-278-272, -13) over Odessa College with a 1126 (293-282-276-275, -9). Thanaphon Suwannapratheep of Dodge City Community College was the individual winner with a nine-under par, 275 (69-67-69-70) for a two-stroke victory over second-place finishers Tom Watson of Midland CC and Mans Boje of Ranger College.
The top finisher for SMC was Wyatt Harrill, who ended the tournament with an even par final round of 71. In Friday's final round, Harrill had four birdies and 12 for the tournament. His 72-hole score of 296 (75-73-77-71) secured him a tie for 55th place.
Teammates AJ Bolin shared 97th with a 309 (79-76-76-78) and Parker Harrigan shared 113rd with a 322 (79-83-78-82). Rounding out the SMC lineup, Elijah Todd was 116th with a 338 (82-84-89-83) and Bryson Paris was 117th with a 343 (87-84-91-81).
