Men's Golf Finishes 6th at NJCAA District Preview
The Pioneers finished in 6th place as a team this week in the NJCAA Southeast District Preview being played at Cherokee Ridge Country Club in Union Grove, Alabama. The team shot rounds of 313, 316, and 315 to finish with a 54-hole total of 944. Freshman Chapin Smith led the team with rounds of 76, 74, and 77 to finish in 10th place individually during his first career start as a Pioneer. “This week will be a learning experience for our team. In the spring, our team will be back at Cherokee Ridge looking to play our way into the National Championship. The team will be able to use the course knowledge from this week to help us better prepare" says Head Coach Tyler Jones. The Pioneers return to tournament play on October 9th at Cherokee National in Gaffney, SC.
