
SMC Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Sherman B. Smith Memorial
Hartwell, Georgia – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team finished ninth at the Sherman B. Smith Memorial at the Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Georgia.
The Pioneers posted a team score of 617 (310-307) / +14. NCAA Division II North Georgia took home the team title by one stroke with a 572 (291-281) / -7.
SMC was led by the play of Lane Carr, who shared 10th place honors with a 145 (74-71) / +1. Carr had three birdies in Tuesday's final round to lead the Pioneers. Teammate AJ Bolin shared 23rd with a 149 (74-75) / +5 as he had a team-best four birdies on Tuesday.
Bryson Paris shot a 36-hole total of 161 (81-80) / +17 to share 55th and Andrew Walker shared 60th with a 36-hole total of 161 (81-81). Paris had a birdie on No. 8 on the day.
Next, the Pioneers will take part in the Golden Tiger Collegiate at the Chattahoochee Course in Gainesville, Georgia, Mar. 10-11.
